Ramadan Iftaar
Thursday, September 25, 2008
Shortly after the commencing of a new school year, the students eagerly and quickly planned an iftaar dinner during Ramadan for the school and the public. Dinner was catered from Nandos, and dessert was brought in by Sr. Fatima and Ms. Qureshi. With over 200 attendees, the event, needless to say, was a success!

ISNA High was buzzing with activity as students came in with friends and family for the second annual iftar held on Sept. 15.
Over 100 guests attended, impressed by the efforts of the students who worked tirelessly to make it all happen. The MCs of the evening were Tuba Muhammad and Salem Aboghodieh.
The first entry for the talent show was a video by Noura Saad and Lyla El-Sayyid from 10th grade. Their video, later announced as the winning entry, was made up of various clips of different students and staff members explaining what Ramadan means to them.
Following the video, a moving skit was performed by several 12th graders. Flashbacks were used to show how a dying and regretful man’s life had been, and how it really should have been.
The talent show also included a poem by 9th grader Anisa Mohammed called Time.
Finally, Sh. Alaa’s inspirational speech followed by the fabulous food generously catered by Paramount, were highlights for guests. The night was topped off with desserts, compliments of ISNA High’s new cooking club run by Mr. Sattar.
The iftar was a resounding success, demonstrating what ISNA students can accomplish when they commit to something!
